    Puthumai Arockia Nazarene (born: Nov 1968), hails from Adaikalapuram, a little known village of Thoothukudi district, Tamilnadu State in India. Inspired on wanting to do more for the society as he read of poverty and hunger deaths in some of the States of northern India, he left as a teenager to work there. He has spent over 30 years of his life in social development works in several under-served and multi-hazardous districts of West Bengal, India. His experience in emergency response management and studies in Public Administration enabled him to master emergency coordination. As member of RedR India he has trained government and non-governmental organizations in disaster risk reduction in India and abroad. Using analytical and communication skills, he has initiated sustainable ideas in development programming and disaster management. He was the face of UN Disaster Management Team in Uttarakhand in the aftermath of 2013 flashfloods as the Team Leader leading the coordination for recovery planning and action in that State, till May 2014. After serving as Consultant for Disaster Risk Reduction at Unicef India Country Office, New Delhi, since 2016 he was Team Lead for enabling employability among socio-economically disadvantaged population in North & Eastern states of India under Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Since June 2020 he leads the Youth Employability Program of TCS for non-engineering graduates across the country.
